Summary

Following its latest review cycle, Google has renewed Axeptio's Gold status in the CMP Partner Program.

The search giant has also granted Axeptio the "app-ready" label, given to CMPs whose SDK streamlines Consent Mode implementation for mobile app developers and connects to the main App Attribution Partners (AAPs) selected by Google. Only 10 of the 49 CMPs listed by Google hold the label today. For Axeptio, which helped found the European CMP Association and has served as its president since June, the label confirms a leadership position in Europe that is as visible in the technology it ships to customers as in the regulatory debates under way in Brussels.

Axeptio Google CMP Partner Program

A Reference Point for Advertisers and Publishers Choosing a CMP

Google opened its CMP Partner Program in March 2024, alongside the rollout of Consent Mode v2. The review assigns one of three certification tiers — Bronze, Silver or Gold — based on technical prerequisites, available features, integration quality and customer support responsiveness. Axeptio has been part of the program since it launched and has held Gold status from the outset.

To keep the program relevant, Google reassesses its requirements every year, staying in step with the latest regulatory obligations and with the capabilities expected of its own advertising tools. For an advertiser, a publisher or an agency weighing several vendors, the directory and its filters — tier awarded, app support, partners covered, languages, countries, platforms — provide one of the few objective benchmarks on the market.

The review still centers on how a CMP handles Consent Mode v2, which passes the choices made in the banner to Google Analytics and Google Ads through four signals and, in advanced mode, lets Google model the conversions lost when consent is declined. The quality of that transmission determines how reliable measurement will be: a misconfigured CMP leaves marketing teams without the statistical baseline the entire modeling process rests on. That is why Axeptio added a Consent Mode v2 checker to Shake, its scanner.

Consent in Mobile Apps: Google's New Priority

The "app-ready" label is based on three requirements. The SDK must be able to detect Google Analytics for Firebase and pass it the consent status automatically. It must be natively integrated with at least three of the seven App Attribution Partners selected by Google. And it must carry consent across native screens and embedded web content, so that a user moving from one view to the next is not prompted a second time.

Among the App Attribution Partners (AAPs) recognized by Google, Axeptio has chosen to work with Adjust, AppsFlyer and Singular, the three leading players in mobile attribution.

Brands launching or rebuilding a mobile app are rethinking their entire onboarding journey, and consent is the very first step. That is what led us to prepare a new version of our SDK, built around a Consent Flow Builder, so that every one of them can deliver a premium brand experience from the consent screen onward.

More than 200,000 sites and apps run on Axeptio today, and our customers have turned consent into a brand moment in its own right, with video and immersive interfaces designed in their own brand colors. There is no reason for that experience to stop at the web. It should carry through to the first screens of their mobile app.

Axeptio Strengthens Its Leadership in Europe

The recognition comes as Axeptio plays a leading role in the discussions now reshaping consent across Europe.

In June, Didomi, iubenda and Usercentrics handed Axeptio's CEO, Romain Bessuges-Meusy, the presidency of the European CMP Association, set up in Brussels to give the industry a voice with the European institutions. The association argues for interoperability, so that user preferences can travel between services in a standardized way. The aim is to cut down on repeated prompts without diluting the granularity of individual choices or the accountability each player bears for how those choices are handled.

Mobile apps are one of the next items on that agenda. On August 17, the Bundeskartellamt, Germany's federal antitrust authority, closed four years of proceedings over Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. Under the commitments Apple made, publishers will be able to combine the ATT prompt with the requests required by the ePrivacy Directive. The solution Axeptio will unveil in the coming months is a direct answer to that shift, bringing requests that have until now been handled separately into a single interface.

Axeptio is also speaking to end users directly through Taste, a free browser extension that responds to consent interfaces on their behalf, applies their preferences site by site and keeps a record of the decisions they have made.

Earning this level of recognition on mobile apps is, above all, a credit to our teams, and it is a commitment to everyone who places their trust in us. We work with publishers, advertisers, the European institutions and users themselves to build a model that holds up economically and leaves each person in control of what is done with their data. That is what sets a CMP apart from the rest of the adtech chain: it is paid the same whether the answer is yes or no, and that neutrality is what makes its role essential.
